Role Summary
We’re seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Accounting Manager to oversee a portfolio of small-business clients, lead monthly close and financial reporting, and coordinate with our tax and payroll teams. A key part of this role is assisting with preparing monthly financials for our Spanish-speaking client. This position is hybrid (mix of in-office and remote).
Preferred location: Candidates local to the Murfreesboro, TN area are strongly preferred; however, qualified out-of-town applicants will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly accounting cycle (AP/AR review, bank/credit card reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments).
- Prepare and review timely, accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), with variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Maintain clean, audit-ready general ledgers across a client portfolio; establish and document accounting policies and workflows for each client.
- Partner with tax and payroll teams to support quarterly/annual filings, 1099s, sales/use tax, and year-end close.
- Serve as day-to-day advisor to clients: answer accounting questions, improve processes, and recommend best practices tailored to small businesses.
- Assist with Spanish-language communication and deliverables for our Spanish-speaking client, including meetings and financial review sessions.
- Configure and optimize accounting systems and integrations (e.g., bank feeds, apps, reporting dashboards).
- Track deadlines and SLAs; manage priorities across multiple clients in a fast-paced environment.
- Protect client confidentiality and ensure compliance with GAAP and firm standards.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Spanish (required)—written and verbal, with the ability to discuss financial concepts clearly in both languages.
- 3 years of bookkeeping or client-accounting experience (preferred) supporting small businesses.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) and/or Xero.
- Strong understanding of the monthly close process, reconciliations, and GAAP basics.
- Advanced Excel/Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups) and comfort with cloud apps/integrations.
- Excellent client communication, organization, and time-management skills; able to lead multiple accounts concurrently.
- High integrity and attention to detail; proactive problem-solver with a service mindset.
