A day in the life:
- Physical demands: Lift, carry, and move 50 lb loads. Stand for extended periods. Frequent walking, bending, and reaching overhead.
- Plan and coordinate production while maintaining consistency and product quality standards.
- Accurately measure and prepare a wide variety of standard and sometimes custom-baked goods, including, but not limited to, cookies, brioches, cheesecakes, egg tarts, puddings, fillings, buttercreams, etc.
- Understand all bakery equipment and tools while combining/cooking ingredients according to specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to all required food safety code standards.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including, but not limited to, mixers, ovens, sheeters, three-compartment sink/dishwasher, etc.
- Assist FOH operations as needed by providing upscale quality service and packaging finished products with care.
- Monitor, receive, and stock inventory as it arrives.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the worksite.
- Work with a sense of urgency and meet performance demands.
What you bring to the table:
- Proven general baking experience and passion.
- Be able to commit full-time/part-time.
- Ability to taste and evaluate products, as needed.
- Certified knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety (Paid program, complete in 30 days).
- Exceptional communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.
- Have a strong merchandising, retail, and customer service focus.
- Ability to operate machinery, tools, and equipment properly and safely.
