Food Prep/Line Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep and Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking as well as helping to make pizzas, sandwiches, salads and other menus on the line. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as per recipes.
• Assist in completing orders in a fast-paced and skilled manner.
• Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Participate in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages.
• Support the dietary department in accommodating special dietary needs as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cook or in a similar food service role is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling techniques and safety standards is essential.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with culinary terminology and techniques is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• A passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn more about menu planning and food preparation.
• Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of quality.
