Position Description:
- 100% outpatient role—no hospital work or call.
- Ideal for adaptable team players committed to our protocols—no prior experience required; we value enthusiasm and quick learning.
- The ideal candidate must be adaptable and ready to cross-train in multiple of our Clinical Specialist positions: CS1 (Pre- and Post-Procedure), CS2 (Patient Consultation & Clinical Assessment), CS3 (1st Assistant to Physician Proceduralist) or CS4 (Procedure Room Circulator).
- Important: we use fluoroscopy in the procedure suite, which emits low level radiation. While this is standard, and all Team Members in the procedure suite wear protective lead, this position is not appropriate for pregnant women or women who may become pregnant.
CS1 Duties
- Obtaining and monitoring vital signs & pedal pulses
- Preparing the groin for access
- Monitor access site, assuring hemostasis
- Discharging the patient home
- Documenting all information in our EMR.
- Inventory and supply management
CS2 Duties
- Patient Consults
- Assisting the NP and US Tech with screening of PAD
- Obtaining H&P and medication list
- Performing ABIs, vital signs, blood draws
- Wound care
- Taking photos of any wounds
- Completion of patient charting/documentation.
- Report to the NP with findings
CS3 Duties
- First Assistant/Surgical Assistant
- Setting out necessary instruments
- Position the patient on the operating table
- Handing instruments to the Proceduralist
- Hand dexterity is important
- Keep a sterile environment at all times
- This position requires physical endurance... you will be on your feet for 90% of your shift.
- Must wear lead vests, which add 10-15 lbs of additional weight.
CS4 Duties
- Procedure Room Circulator
- Patient flow is running smoothly
- Making sure the patient has followed all pre-procedure guidelines
- Reviewing patient charts, labs, H&P
- Dispensing medications
- Documenting the procedure and building the report.
- Handling patient complications
- This position requires a high level of medical knowledge and experience.
- Obtaining H&P and medication list
- Performing ABIs, vital signs, blood draws
- Wound care
Locations & Travel:
- Locations: Laredo & Eagle Pass, Texas
- Travel to Eagle Pass 2x/month is required to meet full time hours.
- Travel for training may be required.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- Saturdays and/or Sundays required: Between 0-2 weekend days per month.
- 8-12 hour shifts; starts as early as 6:30 AM (patient-dependent).
