What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Photographer position at PacWest Real Estate Media Group?
Real Estate Photographer – Paid Training (you live in Washington County or Clackamas County)
Pay: $25–$35/hr
Hey! We’re PacWest Real Estate Media Group. We photograph and film homes for real estate agents across the Portland area, SW Washington and Central Oregon, and we’re adding a photographer to our Portland team this January.
No photography experience? That’s okay! We’ll teach you the camera. What we can’t teach is how you treat people, and that’s what we’re really hiring for.
What the job actually looks like
You’ll drive to homes around the Portland metro and beyond and capture everything an agent needs to market a listing: photos, drone, video, reels, 3D tours and floor plans. Some days it’s a brand-new build. Some days it’s a family’s home of 40 years, being sold after a loss. You’ll meet agents and homeowners on site, help agents feel comfortable on camera, and leave every home exactly how you found it.
How we work
- Clients come back because of how our team treats them, even more than the photos. Kindness isn’t optional here.
- The work should look the same no matter who shot it, so everyone trains on the same system.
- Everyone makes mistakes. We own them, fix them and work hard to make sure they don’t happen again.
- We’re a team of employees, not a gig app. We train you, gear you up and have your back.
Training and pay
You’ll train side by side with our lead photographer, fully paid, and you won’t shoot on your own until you’re signed off on every service. Your pay grows as you’re trained:
- $25/hr to start
- $30/hr once you’re signed off on everything except video
- $35/hr once you’re fully trained
What we offer
- Paid training from day one
- All the gear: Sony mirrorless cameras, DJI drones, gimbals and more
- Paid drive time between shoots, plus mileage
- Your FAA drone test fee reimbursed once you pass
- A small team that genuinely likes working together!
Hours
Part-time and hourly. Our hours follow the real estate market, so here’s the honest version: spring and summer are busy, with up to 38 hours a week. November through February is really slow, and weeks under 20 hours aren’t uncommon. If you need steady full-time hours year-round, this probably isn’t the right fit, and we’d rather tell you now!
Mostly weekdays, with some Saturdays and evenings (twilight shoots happen at sunset!).
You’ll need
- An FAA Part 107 drone certificate, or to pass the test by mid-December. It’s a written test, we’ll point you to study materials, and we’ll reimburse the fee once you pass.
- To live in Washington County (Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard and nearby) or Clackamas County (Oregon City, Happy Valley, Milwaukie and nearby).
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and a reliable car
- An iPhone 15 or newer, a computer and good internet
- Customer service experience (2 years preferred)
- To be comfortable on your feet, carrying gear and climbing stairs all day
How to apply
Record a short video of yourself answering these four questions and send it to admin@pacwestrmg.com. Your phone is perfect! We won’t consider applications without a video.
- Tell us about yourself. What do you love?
- Tell us about your customer service experience.
- Tell us about a time you made a mistake at work. What happened, and what did you do?
- Why PacWest?
Also type “I love the PNW!” somewhere in your Indeed application questions so we know you read this far :)
We’re reviewing applications as they come in and holding interviews in November. Start date is Monday, January 4.
