We are currently seeking a caring and compassionate PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services focused on improving functional mobility, strength, and independence for our residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist Implement treatment plans to restore and maintain functional mobility Document daily treatment notes and progress in accordance with state and facility standards Communicate patient progress, concerns, and outcomes with the rehab and interdisciplinary team Participate in care conferences as needed Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy department Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and discharge planning Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program Active California PTA license in good standing Current BLS certification Demonstrated clinical competence and sound judgment Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and staff Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Skilled nursing or geriatric experience preferred Work Environment / Setting Inpatient Skilled Nursing Facility Long-Term Care Short-Term Rehabilitation Center Geriatric population One facility location only Why Join Bakersfield Post Acute?
