Position Summary:
Provides training and guidance to other extrusion operators. Troubleshoots complex equipment failures; processes; assures complete compliance with S.O.P.’s and reports issues/potential issues to the Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
This is a ‘working Lead’ position. The Extrusion Team Leader is responsible for the following, in addition to the responsibilities of the Extrusion Worker
· Communicates with other shifts about machine adjustments and problems during the shift.
· Train knowledge received from maintenance to other production workers.
· Is knowledgeable (after reasonable training) in all aspects of operating and troubleshooting equipment.
· Must maintain next production orders ready to avoid any down time.
· Ensures training and transfer of knowledge to team members on all shifts.
· Identifies employees with aptitude to learn more and ensures training and development.
· Through training and development, ensures that equipment will run consistently in his/her absence.
· Follows and trains other Production Workers to follow Standard Operating Procedures. Makes suggestions for changes/improvements to S.O.P.’s.
· ‘Trouble-shoots’ and solves problems that arise on the shift and/or notifies the Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager on a timely basis.
· Assure all IP programs are being followed ( including Allergen, gluten , Kosher, Halal, Non GMO and Organic )
