What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Mechanic position at Packsaddle Ridge Golf Club?
Packsaddle Ridge Golf Club is a public 18-hole golf course in the Shenandoah Valley. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Golf Course Mechanic to keep our maintenance equipment running and help support daily course operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with small engines, diagnosing problems, and keeping things running smoothly in an outdoor, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment (mowers, utility vehicles, small engines, hand tools)
- Conduct routine service including oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues
- Keep equipment organized, clean, and safe to operate
- Work closely with the Superintendent and maintenance crew to minimize downtime
- Assist with equipment setup and seasonal prep as needed
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical experience with small engines, diesel/gas equipment, or similar machinery
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
- Comfortable working in a shop and outdoor environment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-minded
- Willing to work early mornings and occasional weekends
Golf course mechanic experience is a plus but not required. Automotive, diesel, farm, or landscaping equipment experience is welcome.
