DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The
Information Technology (IT) Department oversees the organization’s technology
systems, ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems essential to daily
functions. The team is dedicated to continually improving a secure and
resilient technology infrastructure that operates at the intersection of
productivity, business processes, and data. Collaborating with all departments
and functions across the organization, the IT department works to optimize
business processes and integrate data and functionality across systems. While
maintaining a high bar for security and integrity, the IT department aims to
provide a frictionless work experience that enables employees to focus their efforts on the
Foundation’s mission.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Integration Engineer plays a key role in the ongoing operation and
optimization of the IT portfolio. This position contributes to the support, development,
and management of integrations across SaaS products, cloud services, and
on-premises infrastructure. The SaaS/Cloud Integration Engineer works closely
with IT staff and stakeholders across the organization to translate business
needs into technical solutions that support seamless operation and information
flow. The position also independently identifies
opportunities for operational efficiency and constantly monitors and optimizes
both technical and business processes while
ensuring the IT portfolio aligns with organizational needs and goals. The Integration
Engineer reports to the IT Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Integration Design and Development
Design, build, and maintain integrations between SaaS applications, internal systems, and cloud platforms (e.g., Fluxx, Salesforce, Office 365/Azure, Monday.com, ServiceNow, Simpplr, Okta, in-house webservices, etc.)
Develop, test, and deploy platform integration solutions using appropriate tools for the context including scripting languages (e.g., python, powershell, javascript), compiled executables (e.g. c#), and iPaaS tools (e.g., Make, PowerAutomate, Workato)
Configure, test, and optimize iPaaS tools to support automation and orchestration
Maintain technical documentation including integration, data flow, and workflow diagrams
Security, Compliance, and Reliability
Ensure integrations are scalable, resilient, and secure and follow best practices for error handling, logging, and monitoring
Implement security measures to protect data and API authentication methods in transit and at rest
Ensure integrations comply with data and security policies and standards, such as NIST SP 800-63
Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems to proactively address failures and performance issues
Lead planning and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity for work implemented
Software as a Service Administrator
Manage vendor relationships including onboarding, renewal, licensing, support escalation, and overall vendor performance
Implement and co-manage multiple products and product components in a hybrid environment across the IT portfolio
Oversee daily operations of SaaS platforms, including onboarding and offboarding, end user training, and service requests
Administer identity and access controls, including permissions, role-based access controls, API access scopes, and SSO
Monitor and respond to service health events, ensuring high availability and uptime of services
Optimize the operation and maintenance of cloud and SaaS products, including performance tuning and cost management
Collaborate with the IT team and external cybersecurity partners to ensure secure operating environments and compliance with organizational policies
Review feature roadmaps, assess potential impact, and plan for changes or feature adoption Lead implementation and communication of product features after assessing impact on IT or organizational priorities
Optimization and Projects
Collaborate with staff to understand business needs, propose and implement solutions as needed
Work with IT applications team to support implementation of broader software solutions
Partner with systems engineers to ensure cloud and SaaS integrations align with infrastructure, security, and performance standards
Identify and propose IT projects that align with staff needs, organizational goals, or improve operational efficiency
Lead projects independently ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives
Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and practices to improve both system and IT process performance and efficiency
