Minnesota, Dakota & Western Railway Company (a Packaging Corporation of America subsidiary) is accepting applications for temporary hourly laborers at the MD&W Railroad for the Summer Break period.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be considered for employment:

• 18 years of age
• Preference will be given to current MDW employees’ dependents.
• Preference will be given to full-time college students (enrolled for 12 credits or more, Fall semester 2026)
• Must be graduating with a high school diploma/GED this spring or have a high school diploma/GED.
• Proof of high school diploma/GED will be required at the time of hire. Any applicant hired who does not meet these requirements will be disqualified for future temporary work.
• Must pass a Federal DOT drug test as required by the Federal Railroad Administration.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

• Hourly rate: $24.97/hr.
• Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
• Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
