Head Swim Coach
PACK Swim Team – Pittsford, NY
PACK Swim Team, a year-round USA Swimming program in Pittsford, NY, is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Swim Coach to lead our competitive swim program.
PACK serves swimmers from developmental through championship levels. This is a part-time leadership role responsible for coaching, program oversight, and staff coordination in partnership with the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach groups of swimmers at two pool sites, including technique, training, and race preparation
- Oversee seasonal training plans and group structure across the program
- Supervise and support assistant coaches
- Coordinate meet participation, entries, and on-deck coverage
- Partner with the Board on program direction, communication, and planning
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and athlete-centered team culture
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, families, and staff
Qualifications
Required:
- USA Swimming (or comparable) coaching experience
- Strong technical knowledge of stroke development and training progression
- Experience leading or mentoring coaches
- Current certifications (or ability to obtain) including Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and Safety Training
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Prior head or lead coach experience
- Experience with team/meet management software (e.g., SportsEngine, SWIMS, Meet Manager)
- Competitive swimming background
Schedule & Commitment
- Year-round position
- September–June: ~15-30 hours/week (evenings weekend meets)
- July: ~20–30 hours/week (limited meets)
- Some administrative work may be completed flexibly
Compensation
- $55,000 annual salary
