Position Overview
Hiring an experienced Tower Climber / Tower Technician to perform maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and related fieldwork on cellular communication towers throughout the Upper Midwest.
This position is ideal for a dependable, safety-focused tower professional who is comfortable working at heights, traveling regularly, working outdoors in changing weather conditions, and completing physically demanding work.

Responsibilities
- Climb cellular communication towers to inspect, maintain, repair, and replace equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on tower sites.
- Install, remove, and replace antennas, cables, mounts, lines, and related telecommunications equipment.
- Troubleshoot tower, antenna, cabling, and equipment issues.
- Follow company, customer, OSHA, and industry safety requirements.
- Use appropriate fall-protection and personal protective equipment.
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools and materials.
- Travel to job sites throughout South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
- Stay overnight when required by the project schedule.
- Assist other crew members and support efficient completion of each job.
Required Qualifications
- Previous professional tower-climbing or tower-technician experience.
- Ability to safely climb and work at significant heights.
- Knowledge of fall protection, rescue procedures, rigging, and tower safety practices.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, climbing equipment, and telecommunications-related equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy tools and materials.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and changing weather conditions.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the five-state service area.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screenings, or driving-record reviews.
Preferred Certifications
· ComTrain or equivalent tower climbing certification
· OSHA 10
· RF Awareness
· CPR/First Aid
· Authorized Climber/Rescue certification
· Valid driver's license (CDL if applicable)
· Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
· Candidates with expired certifications may still be considered depending on their experience and ability to renew required credentials.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires the employee to:
- Climb and work on cellular towers at elevated heights.
- Wear a climbing harness and required safety equipment for extended periods.
- Lift and carry approximately [50–75] pounds.
- Bend, kneel, reach, pull, push, and work in physically demanding positions.
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Travel by company vehicle for extended periods.
- Work occasional early mornings, long days, evenings, or weekends based on project needs.
