We are looking for a hands-on Automation Controls Engineer with strong Siemens PLC experience to support on-site commissioning, startup, and validation activities in regulated manufacturing environments.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive on the plant floor, enjoy troubleshooting live automation systems, and take ownership of production-critical controls and data integration.
You will work directly with Siemens PLC and HMI platforms, packaged equipment skids, and modern industrial technologies while supporting Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) activities in audit-ready environments.
What You Will Do
- Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting support for industrial automation and controls systems
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support Siemens PLC and HMI applications in live manufacturing environments
- Support Commissioning and Qualification activities, including platform qualification, security testing, and data access validation
- Validate MQTT data flows and edge device integrations supporting digital manufacturing initiatives
- Collaborate with OEMs, integrators, and equipment vendors to resolve automation and integration issues
- Support packaged equipment skid integration within larger manufacturing and process control systems
- Develop clear, compliant documentation to support regulated manufacturing and audit requirements
- Contribute to modern industrial automation architectures, including Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing systems
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- 4 of hands-on automation or controls engineering experience in manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with Siemens PLC and HMI platforms
- Exposure to Rockwell Automation or mixed PLC environments
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and live equipment troubleshooting
- Familiarity with validation concepts, C&Q documentation, and regulated manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of MQTT, Industrial IoT, edge devices, or data integration technologies
- Strong communication skills when working with vendors and cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience
- Packaged equipment skid integration
- Life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GMP-regulated industries
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, Unified Namespace, or digital manufacturing architectures
