Position Summary
The Director, Sourcing leads the Contract Operations function within Supply Chain to deliver strategic value and operational excellence in procurement transactional contracting. Responsible for providing direction for a team of contract professionals responsible for initiating, negotiating, implementing, tracking, and ensuring governance for procurement transactions for Gas Operations, Electric Operations, and Environmental and Land Management. Works to enhance client experience with Sourcing by demonstrating aptitude in driving strategic value, operational and process excellence to meet business goals and needs. Collaboratively works with senior management, teams, peers, business partners and subject matter experts in developing and amending contracts that meet business objectives.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs. The assigned work location will be within the Service Territory.
Reporting Relationship
This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Service Delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with LOBs aimed at identifying and understanding the needs of the business obtain their feedback on the quality and costs of such services.
- Reviews and evaluates current business practices and identify areas of opportunity for improvement, including standardization, driving efficiency across the entire procurement process, focusing on spend reduction and service optimization.
- Identifies of organizational, operational, market and business process drivers based on ongoing monitoring of trends, conditions and other key performance indicators.
- Develops and executes short and long-term plans within the resource requirements and budget to meet department goals and objectives including cost savings, customer service, employee engagement, supplier diversity, green procurement and safety.
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to promote cost-effective performance of all indirect sourcing functions and associated planning, management, and operating activities.
- Direct reports include multiple Sr. Managers & Portfolio Managers & Operations Managers. Through these direct reports, incumbents are responsible for all sourcing activity for the assigned areas of the business.

Salary
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $167,000
Bay Area Maximum: $284,000
Background Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 10 years of total sourcing or related industry experience; some positions may require technical/category experience.
Desired
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Project Management experience, Utility industry experience.
- 5 years of supervisor experience.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills required.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams is required.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills are required.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers required.
- SAP/SRM proficiency desired.
- Reviews and provides feedback on project deliverables for team members serving as a point of quality control.
