Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting (adult residential facility). Your compassionate care giving and proactive engagement will foster a safe, respectful environment that promotes growth, dignity, and well-being.

Duties

• Provide personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming to promote independence as needed and/or verbal prompting high functioning adults to do it themselves.
• Monitor and record behavioral data, help de-escalate client behavior, and report any changes or concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with medication administration and record keeping.
• Prepare and serve meals and encourage healthy nutrition habits and social interaction.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties within residents' living spaces and common areas.
• Drive clients to medical appointments and advocate for them.
• Follow behavioral and psychiatric treatment plans in place.

Skills

• Experience in adult residential facilities or day programs for adults with disabilities
• Strong understanding of medication administration or willing to learn
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• DSP 1 and 2 certificates preferred, CPR & First Aid or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background check, valid driver's license, government issued ID and social security card, reliable transportation, permission to work in USA

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
