Job Summary
The Environmental Technician supports the development of sustainable infrastructure through hands-on fieldwork at a variety of construction and environmental project sites. This role includes equipment operation, site preparation, and erosion control while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Frequent travel is a core component of this position, with approximately 90% of work performed at out-of-town project locations.

Duties
- Contribute to the construction and restoration of environmentally responsible infrastructure.
- Safely operate and maintain a variety of construction tools and equipment.
- Prepare job sites by clearing vegetation, grading land, and excavating soil.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and transporting materials and debris.
- Implement erosion and sediment control practices to support compliance standards.
- Follow all safety procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Work closely with team members to meet timelines and project goals.
- Participate in environmental mitigation efforts to minimize ecological impact.
- Travel regularly to remote job sites for extended periods as project needs dictate.
- Support crew and leadership with additional tasks as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in construction, landscaping, or environmental work preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power equipment, and construction methods.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Strong awareness of safety and environmental protection standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Willingness to travel frequently and stay on-site for extended durations.
- HAZWOPER, CDL, and OSHA certifications are a plus.
