Environmental Technician

Job Summary
The Environmental Technician supports the development of sustainable infrastructure through hands-on fieldwork at a variety of construction and environmental project sites. This role includes equipment operation, site preparation, and erosion control while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Frequent travel is a core component of this position, with approximately 90% of work performed at out-of-town project locations.

Duties

• Contribute to the construction and restoration of environmentally responsible infrastructure.
• Safely operate and maintain a variety of construction tools and equipment.
• Prepare job sites by clearing vegetation, grading land, and excavating soil.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and transporting materials and debris.
• Implement erosion and sediment control practices to support compliance standards.
• Follow all safety procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
• Work closely with team members to meet timelines and project goals.
• Participate in environmental mitigation efforts to minimize ecological impact.
• Travel regularly to remote job sites for extended periods as project needs dictate.
• Support crew and leadership with additional tasks as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in construction, landscaping, or environmental work preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power equipment, and construction methods.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in various weather conditions.
• Strong awareness of safety and environmental protection standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Willingness to travel frequently and stay on-site for extended durations.
• HAZWOPER, CDL, and OSHA certifications are a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
