  • Answer intercompany phone calls and communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Inspect incoming customer loads for quantity and acceptable materials.
  • Communicate with equipment operators regarding product and quantity for customer loading.

  • Report accounting, technical, equipment, or other discrepancies and concerns to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
  • Perform equipment safety checks and basic operator-level maintenance as trained and directed.
  • Clean and maintain the yard and driveways to help prevent product from being tracked onto surrounding streets.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide backup support to Logistics as needed, including assisting with bagged-material will-call and shipment orders, preparing or routing related order paperwork and records, and labeling shipments for pickup.
  • As backup coverage, communicate with the Logistics Coordinator, drivers, forklift operators, and other appropriate staff to help coordinate fulfillment of sales orders and shipments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 months of related customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with material handling, a forklift, front-end loader, or similar motorized loading equipment preferred; training will be provided for company equipment.
  • Cashiering and money-handling experience preferred.
  • Basic experience with Windows and point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management and to understand work and safety instructions.
