What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Power Originator position at Pacific Summit Energy LLC?
Position Summary:
The Originator will be responsible for creating and implementing the marketing strategy for the ERCOT retail market by developing new and existing C&I customer relationships and identifying and executing commercial opportunities to capture new business in the electric power markets. An in-depth understanding of the electric utility industry and electric energy markets is required. This position will have an ERCOT market and C&I customer focus. Required to work in the Woodlands, TX office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Essential Position Attributes:
- Direct all phases of transaction development, from opportunity identification, solicitation, to deal execution with prospective customers
- Identify and create high-value and/or strategic energy management agreements, structured power and power-related purchase and sales transactions
- Develop and manage external relationships with third-party companies
- Negotiate contracts with third parties in collaboration with other functions across the organization.
- Attend industry events to represent PSE and enhance or initiate customer relationships
- Maintain a deep understanding of the power/energy markets in ERCOT (or related to a particular customer segment), including understanding relevant PUCT regulations and the ERCOT Protocols which apply to wholesale energy generation, transmission, retail supply and service in the competitive areas of ERCOT, and power-related supply/demand fundamentals
- Utilize market knowledge to identify trends and gaps in available power hedging products that could lead to opportunities with customers and prospects
- Responsible for gathering current power market feedback, running or directing market analyses, and evaluating competitive market landscapes
- Analyze broader market fundamentals including policy drivers, financial incentives, business strategies, and industry trends
- Understand and communicate the competitive landscape to management. This includes competing products and companies, incentive opportunities, potentially new energy conservation measures, and business opportunities
- Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required
