What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor position at Pacific Staffing?
We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to support a 3-month audit and accounting project with a well-established organization in Roseville. This role requires someone who can step in quickly to assist with month-end and year-end close, audit preparation, and general accounting functions.
- Pay: $35/hour
- Location: Roseville – 100% onsite
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, processes, and compliance.
- Review financial statements, accounting entries, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Assess internal controls and identify gaps, risks, or areas needing improvement.
- Prepare audit workpapers, summaries, and reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities as needed.
- Assist with year-end financial statement audit preparation and coordination.
- Verify adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Key Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in a Senior Accountant or Senior Audit Associate (or above) role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Public accounting with auditing experience preferred
- Month end and year end close is required
- Year end financial statement audit support
- Accruals and journal entries required
- Strong understanding of balance sheets, income statements, A/R, A/P, capital expenses, deferred income, etc.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple daily deadlines
- Ability to follow processes from start to finish with strong attention to detail
