As a Quality Inspector at Pacific Rubber, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with customer specifications, workmanship standards, and ISO 9001 requirements. This role involves performing in-process, receiving, and final inspections using various precision measurement tools and equipment, including CMM, Keyence, calipers, micrometers, and Pi Tape. The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in product quality.
The Quality Inspector will have a good understanding of Quality Assurance and the Inspection of Goods.
Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming inspection, sampling, testing, and release of raw materials and packaging components.
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product release to verify compliance with specifications.
- Inspect products during molding, packaging, and die-cutting operations.
- Operate and maintain precision inspection equipment, including CMM, Keyence, calipers, micrometers, Pi Tape, height gauges, and pin gauges.
- Identify non-conforming materials, assist in dispositioning, and document deviations with guidance from the Quality Manager.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections and quality checks.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Production teams to address product quality concerns.
- Participate in containment activities by segregating suspect or non-conforming products.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using CMM, Keyence, calipers, Pi Tape, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Experience in receiving, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills using quality tools and methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 for documentation and reporting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience reading and interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), workmanship standards and customer engineering specifications
- Experience with inspection equipment and measurements such as, but not limited to CMM, calipers,
Keyence, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, etc.
Experience and Education:
- 3 to 5 years of quality inspection or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in hands-on inspection roles within manufacturing, machining, or assembly.
Payrate:
- The position offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience and qualifications within the field. The pay range for this entry to mid-level role is benchmarked against industry standards and is subject to adjustment based on the prevailing market conditions. Annual performance reviews provide opportunities for merit-based increases.
Schedule:
- Onsite- Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 30 min without pay meal break. Overtime may be required, as business demands suggest.
