Duties
- Manage medical office operations including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling correspondence to ensure smooth daily functions
- Process payments for medical claims using EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10
- Review medical records for completeness and correctness before submission to insurance providers or for internal documentation purposes
- Follow up on unpaid claims through effective medical collection strategies while maintaining positive patient relationships
- Assist in managing administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, answering phones, and supporting office staff as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology and records management
- Experience in accounting and working with numbers and Microsoft excel would be helpful
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes
- Experience with medical billing processes and insurance claim submissions
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for handling complex documentation and billing procedures
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and team members
- Pre-Med students encouraged to apply for this position for 1 year or more commitment to this role
