Job Description:
We're currently seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. This role requires excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with other members of the medical team. Technicians are responsible for the accurate computer entry and processing of prescriptions, order fulfillment and various other daily tasks. Job duties also include inventory control, care of supplies and equipment, customer service over the telephone, and the resolution of customer service issues. Assists the pharmacist in all aspects of the daily departmental activities, including training of new staff and pharmacy students, billing, record keeping and other clerical functions, monthly audits, and other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret prescriptions, ensuring all necessary information is complete. Communicate with providers or patients for clarification when needed.
- Enter precise details into patient medication profiles, adhering to policy. Manage prescription refills and electronic renewals with pharmacist verification.
- Navigate computer systems proficiently to select and dispense drugs accurately.
- Process patient correspondence
- Support various queues, including database updates and specialty pharmacy teams.
- Operate pharmacy automation and office equipment effectively.
- Utilize pharmacy information systems to identify and communicate therapeutic issues to pharmacists.
- Handle medication according to policies.
- Perform call center tasks and document disclosures in electronic health records, following all applicable laws and procedures.
- Report medication errors and quality issues in alignment with Quality and Safety reporting standards.
- Participate in reviewing medication histories, allergies, adverse drug reactions, and drug therapy compliance with patients and caregivers.
Requirements:
- California Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Minimum 1 year of experience
