Role Description
This Counseling Intern role is a contract position designed for individuals pursuing hands-on experience in the mental health field, specifically working with COUPLES. The intern will conduct intakes, support individual and group counseling sessions, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with the counseling team to develop treatment plans. This is a hybrid role based in Boise, ID, allowing for a combination of in-person and remote work. Intern should have a high desire to learn how to develop a private practice, including marketing themselves and patience with building a case load.
Qualifications
- Skills in active listening, empathy, and fostering therapeutic relationships
- Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Understanding of basic counseling theories, treatment planning, and psychological principles
- Familiarity with ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and proper handling of sensitive information
- Proficiency in building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting
- Enrollment in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, or related field (required)
- Clinical experience or coursework in mental health services is a plus
