General Description:
The Site Coordinator for Partnerships and Professional Development Programs, Lynnwood Campus provides leadership, instruction, program oversight, and support for PPD programs at the Lynnwood campus. This role is critical to scaling our highest enrollment PPD programs while sustaining high-quality, mission-driven preparation for PPD educational programs across Washington state.

The site coordinator will recruit and support candidates in our new principal cohort in Lynnwood and add on endorsement programs. Additionally, the site coordinator will recruit for additional programs, including: BCBA, adapted PE, and school social work certificates in the northern region of Washington. The site coordinator plays a central role in ensuring program excellence and compliance with the newly implemented certification program reviews by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB). Additionally, the site coordinator of PPD programs in Lynnwood will support the development and design of new PPD certificates (CTE and Highly Capable). This position is vital to PLU’s ability to grow existing and new programs in North Western Washington and maintain its strong reputation in educator preparation, deepen partnerships with P–12 schools, and meet state and regional workforce needs for culturally responsive school and district leaders. This position reports to the Executive Director of Education Leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with districts in King, Snohomish, and Northwestern WA to expand PLU’s presence.
  • Build and sustain relationships with superintendents, HR leaders, and district PD directors.
  • Survey districts in the region to understand professional development needs. Support developing and launching professional development needs
  • Serve as PLU’s on-site representative at the Lynnwood campus for classes and programs.
  • Lead marketing and recruitment strategies and plans in Lynnwood.
  • Recruit students into new and existing cohorts, including leading information sessions, visiting districts, and supporting job fairs.
  • Support adjunct faculty hiring and onboarding.
  • Schedule classes, coordinate room use, and ensure smooth campus operations.
  • Develop contracts for instructors in Lynnwood.
  • Support billing of students and coordination with PLU offices as needed.
  • Teach up to 8 credits per year in PPD or other education programs, depending on expertise.
  • Replicate some of PLU’s most popular PPD offerings (certificates, principal cert, continuing ed programs, etc.) in the Lynnwood region.
  • Create new programming responsive to district needs (e.g., leadership development, equity training, endorsements).
  • Act as a connector between PLU’s main campus and the Northern Puget Sound region. Potentially come to the PLU main campus weekly (1 time) or bi-weekly for team meetings and coordination.
  • Attend weekly partnerships and professional development meetings to collaborate with the PPD and Ed Leadership Team.
  • Deliver information sessions for the principal and add on endorsement programs monthly.
  • Collaborate with certification officer to recommend candidates for certification at the completion of the program.
  • Organize and keep certification records for principal and add on endorsement candidates.
  • Coordinate logistics and projects for the Lynnwood principal program from start through completion including ordering, registering etc.
  • Orient participants and faculty to program requirements.
  • Attend Professional Educator Advisory Board meetings.
  • Visit partner schools for recruiting, networking, and connection opportunities.
  • Participate in state-wide/national policy development meetings such as WCEAP.
  • Manage external contracts and agreements, particularly faculty and field supervisor hiring.
  • Support with internal and external program reviews and accreditation as needed.
  • Attend Lynnwood program seminars, orientations, graduations, and ceremonies as needed.
  • Supervise and support the field supervisors for the Lynnwood principal program.
  • Lead and facilitate monthly field supervisor meetings.
  • Possible development of a CTE proposal and certification program.
  • Possible development of a highly capable certification program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with individuals and groups of varying size.
  • Ability to design and implement effective educator continuing education programs.
  • Ability to solve problems innovatively and creatively across a broad spectrum of issues and to develop new structures and procedures as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Highly motivated; able to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Ability to facilitate event and workshop/training operations.
  • Knowledge of contemporary adult learning theory.
  • Knowledge of current state and national standards for teachers and administrators.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, google drive and website management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Three or more years experience in K-12.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Teacher and/or Principal Certification (continue to maintain State certificates).
  • Finalist candidates must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background checks.

Work Conditions:
Job is performed in an office setting, sitting, and keyboarding are required daily. The job includes work in the field for establishing partnerships and recruiting which may include walking, standing, and moving items. Driving will be required for the purpose of recruiting and partnership development.

Physical Requirements:
  • Some evenings and weekend work is required.
  • Some travel is required for recruiting, information sessions, and association meetings.
