Work Schedule:
Part-time; Spring semester (February 1 – May 31, 2026). Monday-Friday availability expected to teach one 4-credit course. In-person availability on MWF.

General Description:
The Mathematics Department at Pacific Lutheran University invites applications for a visiting part-time position for Spring semester only beginning February 1. Successful applicants will have prior experience teaching mathematics at the college level, particularly business calculus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Teach one course at the undergraduate level.
  • Hold regular student hours.
  • Be available to students via email.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to successfully teach the required course.
  • Ability to design and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Passion for teaching and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff in a collegial and team-based environment.
  • Commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education.
  • Ability to contribute to fostering diversity of the campus, curriculum, and/or discipline.

Required Qualifications:
  • MS or higher in mathematics or related field.
  • Applicant must be legally eligible to work in the United States on hire date AND legally authorized to work in the United States for Pacific Lutheran University without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching the required courses.
