1-to-1 Math Tutor (Math 7 through AP Calculus); science expertise (chem/bio or physics) a strong plus
Part-time: consistent after-school schedule required. Daytime hours may also be available.
Pacific Learning Academy is an established, 1-on-1 private school and tutoring service for middle and high schoolers in Sammamish, WA. We provide customized instruction in students' homes, at local libraries, at our school office, and online.
We are currently hiring a part-time tutor to support students in:
- Math 7 through AP Calculus
- Ability to tutor other subjects a plus: science (chemistry, biology, or physics), or additionally, Spanish, humanities, etc..
If you love helping students master challenging coursework and gain confidence in STEM subjects, we’d love to meet you!
Schedule requirements: Core hours would be Monday-Thursday from 3:30 to at least 7:00 pm to start. Daytime hours (between 11 and 3) likely available after starting.
This position begins with approximately 12 hours/week, with the potential to expand depending on the hours you can offer later in the evening or weekends. Our waiting list of students is eager to meet you!

Job Details
- Hours: After onboarding, start with ~12/week; can grow to 15 (more if multi-subject)
- Days: Monday-Thursday to start
- Locations: Issaquah & Sammamish (homes, libraries, or Academy office). Some Zoom may be included.
- Commitment: Through mid-June (summer hours optional).
- Travel: Reliable transportation is required; drive time between lessons is paid.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Subject Expertise in Math – Strong knowledge of math through AP Calculus.
✅ Ability to tutor other subjects: Chem/Bio highly desired.
✅ Teaching & Communication Skills – Experience tutoring or teaching diverse learners; ability to engage and motivate reluctant learners. (ADHD experience helpful)
✅ Reliability & Professionalism – Clear communication and timely lesson reporting.
✅ Education – Bachelor's degree required. Teacher certification welcome but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
