About the Role
This position focuses on individualized tutoring in English (literature, writing, composition) and/or Spanish through the AP level. Experience with study skills or additional subjects is welcome but not required.
Instruction may take place in the following settings, depending on family requests:
✅Student homes in Sammamish or Issaquah
✅Local libraries
✅ Our Academy office
✅ Zoom-based sessions
Most families prefer tutoring once or twice per week, Monday through Thursday, in the late afternoon or evening. We are looking for someone who can reliably offer at least 12 hours per week within the 3:30 to 8:00 pm window.
The position runs through mid-June, with optional summer hours available.

What We’re Hoping You Bring
- Experience tutoring or teaching teens in English, writing, humanities, or Spanish
- A bachelor's degree
- Clear communication and a supportive, encouraging teaching style
- Ability to commit through June 2026
- Reliable transportation for in-person instruction
- Bonus strengths: executive functioning/study skills coaching, math (any level), statistics, biology, or chemistry
Logistics and Compensation
- Please be able to offer at least 12 hours of availability within the after-school window of 3:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Actual teaching hours will vary based on student demand.
- Some weekend or earlier daytime availability can be helpful, though not required.
- Paid sick leave, paid training, and paid drive time between lessons are included.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available for instructors averaging 26 hours per week.
