Position Summary
The Junior Estimator supports the estimating team with take-offs, bid preparation, and mapping analysis. This role utilizes GIS tools and mapping software to measure properties, analyze site data, and support accurate bid development.
This is an entry-level role with hands-on exposure to real projects, working closely with estimators, account managers, and operations teams.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with material and labor take-offs for bids
- Use GIS and mapping tools to measure properties and analyze site data
- Support preparation of proposals for maintenance and enhancement work
- Enter and manage bid information in company systems (Aspire or similar)
- Review plans, aerial imagery, and site data to support estimating accuracy
- Help ensure bids are accurate and submitted on time
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Participate in occasional site visits and field walks
- 0–2 years of experience in estimating, GIS, construction, landscaping, or related field
- Experience or coursework in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) preferred
- Familiarity with tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar mapping platforms
- Degree (or currently pursuing) in:
- GIS / Geography
- Construction Management
- Horticulture
- Engineering or related field
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Basic math skills (measurements, quantities, calculations)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and computer systems
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus)
