Pacific International has been retained to conduct a confidential search for a Global Senior Director of Engineering on behalf of a market-leading industrial technology and engineered solutions organization.
This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a global engineering function while driving operational excellence, innovation, digital transformation, and talent development across a complex international business.
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will lead a global engineering organization and play a critical role in defining strategy, building capability, and delivering business performance across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global engineering vision, strategy, and operating model.
- Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple international locations.
- Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, governance, processes, and best practices.
- Drive organizational effectiveness through optimized resource allocation, capability building, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner closely with commercial, operations, supply chain, project management, and product leadership teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Champion digital engineering, modernization initiatives, advanced technologies, and AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and leadership development.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior executives on engineering strategy, organizational design, and technical capability.
Ideal Background
- Significant progressive engineering leadership experience within industrial, manufacturing, energy, process technology, engineered equipment, or related sectors.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed and globally integrated engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated success developing engineering strategies that translate into measurable business results.
- Strong track record of leading transformational change within complex, matrixed environments.
- Experience partnering with both technical and commercial stakeholders at executive levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Digital engineering transformation and technology adoption.
- Engineering leadership within engineered-to-order, custom manufacturing, capital equipment, or project-based businesses.
- Experience leveraging data, automation, AI, or advanced engineering tools to improve performance and productivity.
