The Export Control Classification Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with national export control regulations by accurately classifying Trans-Tech’s RF filter products, other applicable product exports, and associated technical data that will be exported as part of the company’s manufacturing needs.  This role requires detailed knowledge of export classification to support organizational adherence to global trade regulations. The specialist will maintain accurate and current classification data and provide critical support for export licensing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performing export control classification for RF filter products and associated technical data in accordance with applicable regulations, including EAR (Export Administration Regulations), BIS, USML, and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
  • Handling license applications and compliance requirements in DDTC/DECCS
  • Managing US re-export classification requests.
  • Continuously monitoring changes in export control legislation and updating classification data to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Escalating complex or unclear classification requests to appropriate senior personnel or regulatory authorities.
  • Classifying Trans-Tech materials under the appropriate ECCN based on product specifications and international trade requirements.
  • Processing and responding to requests and communications related to ECCN, including the creation of reference documents (reasoning).
  • Performing quality checks on ECCN codes to verify accuracy and compliance with applicable export regulations.
  • Escalating any ECCN code issues requiring higher-level review or intervention.
  • Assigning HTS codes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in export control classification, preferably within a manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US export control regulations (EAR, ITAR, BIS, USML) and international trade compliance.
  • Proficient or willing to be trained in SAP platforms, specifically SAP Business One.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a U.S. person.

Work Location:  Ideally onsite, but hybrid may be considered

Salary : $80,000 - $125,000
