Under the direction and supervision of the Adult Education Principal and/or the Adult Pacific Grove Adult Education is seeking enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and reliable pool of Community Education Substitute Instructors to join our vibrant team. Our Community Education program offers a wide range of classes designed to inspire, engage, and support adult learners in pursuing lifelong learning.
Position Overview
Substitute Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive instruction to adult learners. Substitutes may be called upon to teach various classes as needed and are expected to maintain a supportive, positive learning environment.
Course Areas
Classes offered vary by session and may include, but are not limited to:
Zumba
Line Dancing
Pilates
Ballet
T’ai Chi
Qigong
And many more!

Responsibilities
Provide effective, engaging instruction aligned with the established course outline.
Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for diverse adult students.
Ensure safety and proper use of classroom or studio spaces.
Communicate professionally with staff and students.
Follow PG Adult Education guidelines, policies, and attendance procedures.
Qualifications
Experience teaching adults in one or more relevant subject areas preferred.
Ability to adapt lessons and teaching style to meet student needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm for adult education.
Schedule & Hours
Substitute teaching assignments vary based on program needs and may include daytime or evening classes.
