Bilingual Disaster Case Manager Social Services Disaster Case Manager Supervisor / Deputy Director of Social Services

Summary: This full-time position provides case management to limited-English proficient (LEP) individuals and families, focusing on disaster-related needs. The Disaster Case Manager connects clients with resources for housing, financial assistance, healthcare, employment, transportation, family wellness, education, and trauma-informed care. Working with Maui wildfire survivors, the role includes assessing disaster-related needs, determining program eligibility, facilitating access to resources, assisting with advocacy and appeals, and developing comprehensive recovery plans. The position requires collaboration with community partners—including businesses, government agencies, and non-profits—to support client recovery and long-term adjustment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Assist clients in navigating social services for housing, food, job/income, health (mental and physical), housing, transportation, family wellness, social adjustment, ESL, education, and access to legal services; Perform client consultations, meetings, intake, and assessments; Conduct client referrals to social services agencies. Assist clients with completion of forms related to applications for disaster relief, public benefits, immigration benefits, and ensure that evidence is attached with each form submitted. Develop individual service plans related to unmet needs for each client; Identify, utilize, and assist survivors with resources available at all levels of government, as well as community resources to make appropriate referrals Ensure timely client interaction and communication so that goals of individual service plans with goals are met towards client self-sufficiency; Provide highly skilled and culturally sensitive services to diverse populations; Screen applicants to identify urgency of needs and eligibility for benefits; Maintain quantitative and qualitative data for IRC and Immigration Services to track clients’ progress as well as support reporting requirements under OCS, informs PGC of IS activities and effectiveness; and for grant writing; Establish and steward critical community partnerships that facilitate referrals, benefits and programs for PGC clients and programs; Coordinate with nonprofits, agencies, and volunteers to conduct outreach events and promote the program

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: Bilingual in English and a second language. Preferred 4-year degree, graduate degree preferred in related fields to include, social services, global studies, education. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently = F Occasionally = O F - Lifting/Carrying below 30 lbs. O - Lifting/Carrying 31 – 50 lbs. R - Lifting/Carrying above 50 lbs. F - Travel. O - Pushing/Pulling up to 50 lbs. Seldom = S O - Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Lifting Overhead. F - Climbing (ascending/descending)

HOURS AND BENEFITS: Rarely = R Full-time; 40 hours per week.
