Position Summary

The Summer Intern, Social Content Development is a hands-on, creative role for a current college student studying video, content creation, communications, or a related field. This intern will actively support the creation of social-first content—capturing video, developing copy, and helping bring PG&E’s brand, advertising, and community stories to life across social platforms.

This role is ideal for a student who understands how content performs differently across channels, is comfortable behind the camera and in editing tools, and is eager to learn how social content is created within a large, mission-driven organization. The intern will gain real-world experience creating video and written social content, learning platform best practices, and collaborating with brand, video, and social strategy teams.

Key Responsibilities

Social Content Creation & Video Capture

  • Capture short-form video and photo content for social platforms using mobile and lightweight production tools.
  • Assist with editing social video content for formats such as Reels, Stories, TikTok, and short-form posts.
  • Draft and refine social copy that complements video and visual content across multiple platforms.
  • Help adapt content to platform-specific formats, tones, and audience expectations.

Channel Awareness & Creative Support

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what types of content perform best on different social platforms.
  • Support ideation for social-first content, trends, and timely moments.

Editorial & Planning Support

  • Help organize content assets, captions, and basic approvals.
  • Assist with day-to-day coordination related to social publishing and content development.
