Role Description The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Wenatchee, WA. This position is responsible for creating and updating detailed structural engineering drawings and models using CAD software, following company standards and engineer directives. Daily tasks include preparing plans, sections, and details; revising drawings based on markups; organizing project files; and coordinating with engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of design documents. The CAD Technician will also assist with plotting and packaging drawing sets, maintaining CAD libraries and templates, and supporting the integration of design changes throughout the project lifecycle. Collaboration, attention to detail, and adherence to schedules and quality standards are central to this role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or similar) and familiarity with drafting standards and conventions. Ability to provide effective Technical Support for CAD workstations and software used in civil and structural engineering projects.
- Certificate or associate degree in drafting, CAD technology, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings, specifications, and design notes with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project teams, and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
