Job Description: Electrical Engineer Submittals
Reports To: Engineering Manager/Owner
Shift / Hours: Full Time

Job Summary: Supports sales team generating submittal packages and revisions. Supports order process with selection of product and creation of bills of material based on customer specifications, maintains control of approved order drawings, The role revolves around generating CAD drawings and create submittals packages for customer approval. This includes but is not limited to: submittals, RFI’s, data sheet collection, knowledge of materials lead-times, customer and sales communication.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
1. Submittal Schedule Management
a. Work with Customer Service/Sales Department to schedule submittal drawing package.

b. Maintain Submittal Drawing Schedule and communicate committed dates to Sales Department.
c. Meet Submittal schedule date
d. Communicate submittals schedule dates promptly to Customer Service/Sales Team/Customer
2. Generate Submittals and Bills of Materials
a. Generate submittals and create bill of material based on quote, specification and single line diagrams on due date.
b. Select electrical components based on customer specifications
c. Select Sections dimensions based on design standards
d. Communicate with sales and customers to get clarifications on order requirements.
e. Communicate with electrical component vendors to obtain training on product selection
f. Utilize vendor portals and catalogs to select and generate part numbers
g. Create, select or request needed wiring diagrams.
h. Include product data sheets in submittal.
i. Send submittals to customers for approval.
j. Revise Submittals based on customer comments.
k. Communicate promptly any drawing changes after approval to customer service/sales/Customer

b. Request schematics and point to point drawings from electrical engineer,
c. Perform quality check on drawings for accuracy before releasing to production
d. Save approved CAD drawing to engineering server.
e. Maintain and update latest drawing in server and order file.

4. Material Ordering Management
a. Generate Bill of Material for Purchasing Department.
b. Verify material has been ordered and material promised dates are within customer promise date timeline.

5. Support Production and Engineering Teams
a. Support Production and Engineering Teams with answers and drawing revisions

Hardware:
Technical Skills Software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks(p, Microsoft Office Suite,
Specialized Training/Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Power Systems electives preferred, No Experience Required
Relationships Works Closely With (Internal): Sales, Customer Service, Engineering Department, Purchasing Department, Fabrication and Assembly Department
Interacts With (External): Distributors, Contractors, Consultant Engineers, and Vendors, etc.
