Pacific Construction is a growing commercial general contractor in Northern California seeking a high-performance, hard-working individual who is a dedicated and self-motivated professional to apply their knowledge, skills, and experience as a Traveling Superintendent in the Commercial Industry.

Title: Traveling Superintendent

Hours: Project Dependent (Extended hours as necessary)

Location: Western United States (Including Hawaii)

This position offers a salary of $90,000 - $120,000 annually.

Description/Roles:

As a Traveling Superintendent you will oversee and assume responsibility for daily, on-site construction of assigned projects. Overall, ensuring the successful completion of assigned projects while maintaining project safety, deadlines, and budget. This position that requires honesty, leadership, communication, attention to detail, and will uphold Pacific Construction’s mission, vision, and values.

Below includes, but is not limited to, a list of the primary roles and responsibilities of the Traveling Superintendent.

  • Ensure safety protocols and OSHA safety standards are strictly adhered to by the field team, sub-contractors, vendors, clients, designers, and visitors so everyone onsite is provided with a safe working environment
  • Advanced review and comprehension of construction plans and/or specifications related to the overall project and subcontractors’ scope of work
  • Develop communication and relationships with clients, designers, inspectors, subcontractors, field team, and project management team
  • Strong communication with the internal project team on a daily basis, especially when there are any occurrences that may affect the successful completion of the project
  • Responsible for upholding quality per standards and regulations of local authorities, clients, designers, and Pacific Construction minimizing corrections, rework, and punch list
  • Advanced coordination, collaboration, and scheduling of all parties to maintain project deadlines/timelines
  • Update, maintain and distribute weekly 3- week look ahead schedules
  • Timely scheduling of inspections and coordination/collaboration with inspectors
  • Tracking labor, change orders, equipment, materials, and supplies to maintain project budgets
  • Host site meetings; OAC meetings, weekly safety meetings, and subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Depending on skills, may be tasked to troubleshoot or complete minor repairs, maintenance, or adjustments required to complete the job
  • Timely, accurate, and detailed development/drafting of requests for information
  • Develop, maintain, execute, and review punch list to ensure timely project completion
  • Exceeds client expectations for each project by understanding client needs, wants, preferences and culture
  • Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues
  • Travels to any assigned projects in Western United States (including Hawaii)

  • Ability to effectively manage stressful situations
  • Ability to lead yet effectively accept direction from the management team
  • Ability to manage time and work on multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working in a team environment
  • Must be proficient in operating computer and associated construction software; Microsoft Office 365 suite (including Microsoft Project), Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Bluebeam
