Position Summary
The Pharmacy Clerk – Shipping & Packaging is responsible for high-throughput, accuracy-
critical preparation, packaging, and shipment of compounded medications and other
necessary administrative functions. This role ensures compliance with California Board of
Pharmacy requirements, USP standards where applicable, and internal quality protocols.
Core Responsibilities
- Package prescriptions following pharmacist verification
- Prepare cold-chain shipments using validated methods
- Generate shipping labels and coordinate carrier pickups
- Perform accuracy checks on patient information and contents
- Maintain packaging inventory and supplies
- Meet daily volume and turnaround targets
- Follow HIPAA and all pharmacy compliance requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in pharmacy or healthcare preferred
- Shipping or warehouse experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 40 lbs
- Perform repetitive tasks
Reporting Structure
- Reports to Pharmacy Supervisor
- Works with pharmacists and technicians
Compliance Statement
This is a non-licensed clerical role. The employee will not perform compounding, clinical
review, or any duties restricted to licensed personnel.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
