What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal General Labor position at Pacific Coast Producers?
As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to sorting, washing, packing, and labeling produce. The job requires standing for long periods, working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Pay Rate: $20.26-$22.80 per hour. Weekend and overtime hours required when needed. Day, swing, and night shifts available. Must be available to work July through October.
These positions are part of a seniority-based collective bargaining (CBA) unit and are required to work on various shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide general labor services as instructed by a supervisor or the management team.
- Grades, sorts, or classifies fruit by size, weight, color, or condition.
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas.
- Labeling and preparing products for shipment.
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Policies (GMPs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Ability to safely walk, climb stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces to arrive at work location.
- Ability to communicate with supervisor/management and understand safety notices and signs.
- Must be able to work any of the three shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Available to work during the months of July through October.
- Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
