Job Summary
Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Is responsible for the assignment, inspection, performance and review of indoor/outdoor maintenance and housekeeping activities at all facilities, motor pools, grounds, and locations. Leads projects in the maintenance and repair work of external facility structures; internal buildings and floors; electrical and plumbing; and grounds keeping and landscaping, in adherence to the requirements of agency policy contracts and licensing standards.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Maintenance activities/functions; estimates needs and requisitions equipment and supplies; demonstrates operation of equipment, tools, and techniques. - Ensures the completion of monthly checklists for building repair and outages. Leads the maintenance work of external structural repairs and/or modifications of buildings and facilities. - Models how and ensures Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are maintained and updated as necessary. - Leads the maintenance of safe OSHA work practices, demonstrating personal protective equipment (PPE) usage to staff. - Leads the maintenance and repair of buildings, gutters and roofs, painting, plumbing, electrical and other assigned tasks. - Leads the maintenance work of internal and external building, landscaping, upkeep, cleaning and maintenance, including but not limited to restrooms, sidewalks, parking lots, and furniture. - Models and mentors others on how to operate, maintain, and make repairs on maintenance and mechanical equipment to ensure cleaning and maintenance responsibilities are performed timely and effectively. - Coordinates and confers with the Safety Manager to install, maintain, and service all safety and emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, intercom systems, service schedules, and receives/responds to alarm system calls .. Assists in contacting appropriate external agencies to schedule inspections and obtain required permits. Assists with the disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals. - Performs a variety of drafts and designs of blueprints and plans for maintenance and repairs. - Trains others in how to document records of equipment capacity, utilization, disbursements, and inventories. Conducts physical inventories to maintain adequate equipment and supplies. - Provides coaching, training, and instruction in maintenance methods, practices, processes, and techniques to crew members and PPO staff. - Participates in and has knowledge of agency wide prevention maintenance and safety programs. - Demonstrates how to utilize vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures. - Participates in on-call rotation as scheduled - Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs.
- High School diploma or GED required and (3) three or more years of experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience to include: - Minimum of three (3) years progressive and upward movement experience in performing all aspects of building and grounds maintenance and prevention. - Haz Mat Responder and Competent Person certifications from the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) or California State Fire Marshall (CSFM) is highly desirable. - Confined Space Entry permit. - Strong working knowledge of federal, state, county, and local building code, maintenance, and safety policies, procedures, codes, ordinances, rules and regulations. - Strong working knowledge of OSHA workplace and safety guidelines and procedures.
