We're currently hiring Sanitation Lead 1 for 3rd Shift schedule starting 8pm Monday-Friday (occasional overtime).
Summary of Job Duties: Will act as lead person who provides advice or assistance when problems or questions arise about the performance of sanitation procedures. Capable of cleaning and sanitizing every piece of equipment in production area. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the facility to ensure that Federal and State requirements are met. Conducts spot checks of sanitized equipment to verify compliance with procedures. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, provide guidance to trainees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads staff in the washing and sanitizing of production equipment following procedures and instructions, document activities as needed. Disassemble and reassemble parts of the machinery to ensure that equipment is cleaned thoroughly, notify appropriate parties when problems are encountered.
- Wash and sanitize assigned production work area on a daily basis.
- Review production schedule to ensure necessary equipment is set up and assembled correctly.
- Conduct pre operation checks to verify quality of sanitation performed by staff.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all sanitation activities.
- Assist in the calibration of specific machinery to ensure proper and timely operation.
- Troubleshoot if problems occur on the line. Confer with Sanitation Supervisor on any issues.
- Take initiative in identifying areas of improvement within the department and working with management in resolving.
- Assist in training others in departmental responsibilities, including all safety procedures.
- At completion of sanitation shift ensure that sanitation materials have been returned to their correct locations.
- Act as a back up for supervisor as needed.
- Safely operate dolly, pallet jack and forklift; perform pre-op check and inform appropriate parties when problems are encountered.
- Attend all department and company required trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must know all the responsibilities of the position and be able to effectively lead others in performing them. Demonstrated excellent performance of work within the department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED. Three to five years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. At least one year experience specific to sanitizing equipment utilized in the facility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production type atmosphere where the temperature is as low as 32 degrees, low environmental temperature levels. Noise level in the production environment may require use of hearing protection. Requires standing for long periods of time, frequent lifting of material up to 50 pounds and frequent twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
