What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transcriptionist position at PACIFIC CATARACT & LASER INSTITUTE?
OBJECTIVE
With a positive and cheerful attitude, transcribe specialty communication from all members of the medical staff from recorded dictation and patient charts.
REPORTS TO
Site Manager
STATUS
3/4 time (30 hours per week)
SCHEDULE
Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. These are our normal office hours. However, work hours for this position fluctuate based on our doctors’ availability and the patient schedule.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- General office skills: telephone, filing, keyboard, 10-key
- Computer knowledge
- Good organization skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently
- Detail orientated
- Good listening skills
- Pleasant, cooperative, caring attitude
- Willing to work with others to set and achieve goals

- Sit for extended periods of time
