JOB SUMMARY:The Echo Technician performs basic and complex cardiac ultrasound and other non-invasive procedures as defined in clinical policies and procedures. The incumbent organizes and prioritizes work in accordance with clinical needs and completes assignments within assigned times.WORK LOCATION:This role may be scheduled to work at different clinic locations, including Laguna Hills, Irvine, and Costa Mesa, depending on business needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Consistently performs diagnostic quality cardiac ultrasound and other non-invasive procedures utilizing proper technique consistent with clinical protocols and ultrasound safety practices.Consistently triages patients appropriately according to their acuity level, follows established procedures for patient identification, reviews orders and indications for exam for appropriateness of each exam and provides pertinent clinical history for exams performed.Consistently submits accurate and complete exam images and associated exam worksheets and templates, consistent with department protocols, for physician interpretation.Accurately performs all data entry and clerical procedures required to ensure that completed exams are recorded in NextGen (EHR), ICAEL Logbook and computer database for laboratory accreditation.Consistently demonstrates compliance with clinical policies and procedures.Obtains and maintains related credential (RDCS, RCS) and continuing education requirements necessary to maintain laboratory accreditation.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED required.Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (such as the CAAHEP-approved or CMA-approved ultrasound training program)RDCS or RCS certification.2 – 4 years pediatric echocardiography experienceCurrent RDCS or RCS certification, requiredEKG interpretation and arrythmia recognition preferredKnowledgeable and complies with safety practices and emergency protocolsKnowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiologyKnowledge and skills required to operate ultrasound systemsAbility to understand and follow detailed exam protocolsExceptional customer service and interpersonal skills both verbal and writtenPay Range: $40.00 - $56.95 (DOE)
