What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at PACIFIC AEROSPACE & ELECTRONICS?
Pacific Aerospace & Electronics Bonded Metals facility, located in Sequim, WA, is looking for a new Shop Technician to join our team!
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Shop Lead Technician Senior, will assist with various labor activities required for explosive hydroforming & metal bonding.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initial ATF background check for explosive handing authorization required.
- Handling heavy materials using tools & equipment as needed.
- Metal fabrication using industrial cutting, grinding & welding equipment.
- Various woodwork to manufacture basic assemblies & boxes such as shipping crates.
- Loading and unloading of materials used for remote site blasting.
- Working with high explosive powders, detonators and detonator cord.
- Assist with blasting operations by keeping blasting area safe and clear of any unauthorized personnel.
- Must maintain a high level of safety and responsibility while working with equipment & explosive materials.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working within applicable trade.
- Experience with hand and power tools for metal & wood working.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (Tractor, Forklift, Skid Steer, Cranes)
- Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Additional Considerations:
- Possess a valid Blaster's License or be willing to take the test to obtain the license.
- A valid class C or higher Commercial Driver's License & eligible for a Hazmat Endorsement.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold and heat, including at times, muddy conditions.
