Duties
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data that may impact costs.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide support in the development of bids and proposals for new projects.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on electrical projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with cost control methodologies and techniques.
- Proficiency in using estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with contractors and vendors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in evaluating project specifications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
