Schedule Shift: Sat–Sun days 3 weekday shifts (may include evenings) | Nights (8 hrs) | 40 Hours/week
Pay Rate: $29/hr
Description:
TITLE: Temp-to-Perm Patient Financial Advocate
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent – Required
1–2 years as Patient Financial Advocate, Patient Registration, or Patient Accounting Experience with front-end patient financial interactions
Epic experience – Required
Experience obtaining insurance authorizations – Required
Customer service experience in a healthcare/financial setting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive patient financial screenings
- Educate patients/families on insurance benefits, coverage, billing, and financial processes
- Obtain insurance authorizations for services
- Secure payment arrangements and collect co-pays/coinsurance
- Clear accounts for billing before discharge
- Identify additional payment sources (Financial Assistance, Medical Assistance, etc.)
- Provide accurate cost estimates
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers
- Deliver excellent customer service while working under stress with tact and diplomacy
