Role Description The Licensed Funeral Director FT/PT, or NYS Resident at Pacer Funeral Home Inc. will provide professional funeral services and support to families throughout the planning and memorial process. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with families to arrange services, coordinating visitations and ceremonies, overseeing preparation and embalming of decedents, and ensuring all legal and regulatory documentation is completed accurately. The role also involves collaborating with staff to maintain a dignified environment, managing logistical details such as scheduling and transportation, and upholding the highest standards of ethical and compassionate care. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Buffalo, NY, with potential part-time options as needed.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in embalming and preparation of decedents, adhering to all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Experience working in funeral homes, including coordination of services, visitations, and memorial events.
• Strong family services skills, with the ability to provide empathetic guidance, grief support, and clear explanations of options and processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Current New York State Funeral Director license, or eligibility and intent to obtain NYS licensure within a defined timeframe.
• Knowledge of state and local regulations related to funeral services, documentation, and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and respond calmly in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
