We are looking for an experienced Controller who wants more than another accounting position. This is an opportunity to become a key financial leader, work directly with our CEO and leadership team, and help guide the company through its next decade of growth.
The Opportunity
Our accounting department has established a strong foundation of accurate reporting, disciplined cash management, dependable inventory accounting, and timely month-end closes.
The next Controller will be responsible for maintaining those standards while strengthening our financial processes, internal controls, planning, and executive reporting.
This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership, values accuracy, remains calm under pressure, and enjoys solving complex financial and operational problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce complete and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Close the books within three to five business days following month-end.
- Oversee general accounting operations and the general ledger.
- Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
- Maintain accurate inventory accounting, controls, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Coordinate annual tax work with outside accounting firms.
- Establish and improve internal controls and financial processes.
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support executive decision-making.
- Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure accounting deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met.
Qualifications
We are looking for a proven financial leader with:
- At least four years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
- Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or in a comparable financial leadership position.
- A demonstrated history of producing accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
- Strong experience with cash-flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with inventory accounting, inventory controls, and reconciliation.
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience establishing and improving accounting processes and internal controls.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A stable work history and strong professional references.
