\*\*EARLY HEAD START FAMILY ADVOCATE\*\* We are looking for candidates
with a passion for working with children in an early learning
environment with the following qualifications and skills: ? AA/BA in
Human Services, Social Services, or related field; ? Bi-lingual:
English/Spanish; ? Experience in Case Management; ? Experience working
with people from diverse cultural backgrounds; ? Sensitivity to the
needs of families with low-income and knowledge of community resources;
a vehicle for transportation between sites and to home/agency visits. ?
Must be able to pass CORI & DCF background checks and meet state/federal
mandates pertaining to credentials and professional development. The
Family Advocate is responsible for recruiting and enrolling eligible
children for Early Head Start services. S/he provides supportive family
services to an assigned caseload of infant and toddler children and
families in accordance with Early Head Start performance standards. The
EHS Family Advocate works in partnership with parents/family members to
improve and support the quality of family life and plans and implements
a variety of activities to facilitate parent communication and
involvement in their children?s education and care. The Advocate
facilitates relationships between the Early Head Start and Head Start
Programs, children and families and professionals from community
agencies and organizations. Head Start provides family-centered
pre-school programming for over 200 income-eligible families with
children from age 3 to age 5, and high-quality early childhood education
for 30 children from age 6 weeks-3 living in the Greater New Bedford
