Police Athletics for Community Engagement (PACE) is a community-focused organization based out of Omaha, Nebraska. PACE operates with the goal of building positive relationships between law enforcement and the community through youth athletic programs and events. Committed to fostering a safer and more united community, PACE offers a variety of sports programs and activities to engage youth and promote healthy lifestyles.
Role Description
This is a part-time, seasonal, on-site role for a Sports Management Intern located in Omaha, NE. The Sports Management Intern will assist in organizing and managing community sports events, coordinating with coaches and participants, and promoting PACE programs.
This role will specifically work with our Fall Sports programs: (We will hire 1 per sport)
- Fall NFL Flag Football
- Girls Volleyball
- Teen 3v3 Basketball
Daily tasks include supporting event logistics, maintaining communication with community partners, assisting in league operations/planning, coaching teams if needed, officiating games, and on-site supervision of evening programming.
This position has a salary range of $18-$20 per hour.
Qualifications
- Coaching/playing experience a plus
- Strong Communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Passion for community engagement and youth development
- In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field
Candidates must be able to work all program days/times for the program they are interested in:
- Flag Football: M/T/W/TH evenings, 5pm-9pm
- Volleyball: W/TH evenings 5pm-8pm, Saturdays 8am-2pm
- Teen B-Ball: W/F evenings, 5pm-9:30pm
Additional office hours will be available for practice planning and program preparation.
This position is specifically aimed at hiring individuals for our Fall Programs, with calendar ranges of:
- Flag Football: Early August - End of October
- Volleyball: Early October - End of December
- Teen B-Ball: Early July - End of August
These programs takes place at Christie Heights Community Center in South Omaha.
Additional locations may be added based on registration numbers.
There may be an opportunity to stay on for Winter Programs if the candidate's schedule, sport interest, and job performance allow.
