Pace Inc, an outdoor power equipment distributor based in Plymouth, Michigan, is looking for a Product Specialist to cover the state of Florida. The Product Specialist will call on independent dealers representing and selling Ferris outdoor power equipment and is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within their assigned territory.
About the Role:
Pace is seeking a driven Product Specialist to maximize sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within the assigned territory. This role focuses on representing and selling premium Ferris Equipment products to independent dealers, ensuring strong business relationships and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Ferris Equipment brands within the assigned territory and provide product training to Territory Managers as needed.
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective dealers to generate new business.
- Represent Ferris Equipment with professionalism in all interactions with customers, vendors, and dealers.
- Promote, sell, and secure orders by communicating regularly with dealers through various channels, building rapport, and understanding their needs.
- Submit orders using price lists and product literature.
- Understand annual booking requirements and utilize booking forms effectively.
- Monitor competition and maintain competitive comparisons, sharing insights through dealer training sessions.
- Identify and address training opportunities within dealership sales, parts, and service departments.
- Stay current on product applications, technical services, market conditions, and promotional trends.
- Analyze markets using Pace's Road Mapping System and provide dealers with written plans to reach market potential.
- Prioritize time and activities based on sales volume analysis.
- Maintain CRM/Outlook calendars scheduled six months ahead, updating dealer activities with visit purposes, results, and follow-ups.
- Recommend changes to management based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions, and making recommendations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and participation in industry associations.
- Demonstrate products and services to dealers and end users, assisting them in selecting the best equipment for their needs.
- Coordinate sales and support efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams.
- Review, understand, and implement all Dealer and Marketing Programs.
- Participate in trade shows and conventions, including setup and teardown of equipment and materials.
- Adhere to state traffic laws and company vehicle policies for safe operation of vehicles and demonstration equipment.
- Ensure all assigned vehicles, trailers, and demo equipment are properly maintained and presentable.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; 2–5 years of sales experience or equivalent coursework in business, marketing, or related fields.
- Previous experience with Ferris products is preferred.
- Strong customer service, sales, prospecting, and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain client relationships, prioritize work, and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel overnight within the territory and occasionally out of state for meetings or conventions.
- Ability to work weekends/evenings for dealer events as needed.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and adhere to all relevant regulations.
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more than 70 pounds; must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and perform other physical tasks as required.
***Offering a competitive salary of $ 70,000 based on experience plus bonus opportunity. Truck, trailer, and laptop provided. Travel expenses, monthly phone allowance along with paid time off and full benefits offered.
This position requires the applicant to pass a background check and to have or obtain a DOT medical certificate. PACE Inc. will pay for the exam and provide the necessary form. A valid Driver’s License Required. Overnight travel is required for this position.
